The Restoration and Renewal Programme was established to tackle the significant work that needs to be done to preserve the Palace of Westminster and ensure it can continue to serve as home for the UK Parliament in the 21st century. Work has begun to establish a new, two-tier governance model for the programme, like that which has been proven to work well on major projects such as the London 2012 Olympics and Crossrail.

The focus of the Design (Client) team is to ensure that the building scope and design for the Restoration and Renewal (R&R) Programme meets the requirements of the Sponsor Body.

Sustainability is at the core of the programme and it is an integral part of Parliament’s operation and social values. It has a significant impact on all aspects of the design, construction and future operation of the programmes.

The successful candidate will be Implementing and maintaining work plans and research that support the values of the sustainability vision as well asreporting to the programme client on progress, drafting papers for the board, and conducting research and development on the scope.

The post holder will be responsible for;

  • Working with the Sustainability Lead to achieve the delivery of an exemplar sustainable programme that reflect Parliaments values regarding social, economic and environmental benefits for all.
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders, Programme Leads, Members, the public, etc., to ensure their requirements are met in the implementation of sustainability across the programme.
  • Collaborative working with the internal and Consultancy Advisory Services (CAS) teams to ensure the delivery of an ambitious socially, economically and environmentally beneficial programme for Parliament

In addition to an attractive salary, the benefits package include the possibility of flexible working, while annual leave entitlement starts at 30 days per year. There are also subsidised canteens, a gym on-site and a season ticket loan scheme is available.
