The Role

The Senior Digital Content Producers are responsible for creating, updating and reviewing content around the end-to-end user journey of select committee content and are comfortable using evidence, data and research. They build strong relationships with Committee Office colleagues to focus the needs of the user and to influence stakeholders. They are key contributors to select committee inquiry planning activities, making recommendations on digital engagement tools and techniques for maximum impact, tailored to the objectives of the inquiry and needs of the audience. They contribute to and use style guides, embedding online best practice in all they do, including usability, accessibility and search engine optimisation.

Working across a range of mediums within a framework, they are able to identify and produce different types of content formats and approaches to facilitate effective online communication and engagement. They are digital content professionals who have basic HTML and audio-visual production skills and are highly proficient in sourcing relevant imagery and in using long-form content publishing tools such as Content Management Systems and Shorthand. They are confident in editing complex written content to improve online performance and meet the needs of both expert professional users and interested citizens and can advise others on content design principles. They can source and convey analytics on the performance of the content they are responsible for and will support the Performance Analyst by collating data for, and contributing to where helpful, monthly analytics retrospectives and monitoring KPIs.

They work effectively in a fast-moving multi-disciplinary team and understand what good customer service looks like, working collaboratively and transparently.

The Person

The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:

  • Experience of producing engaging online content and applying key principles of content design and online best practice with a good awareness and understanding of current and emerging web technologies
  • Experience of evaluating the reach and impact of digital content and an understanding of how to assess and manage risk, particularly in relation to the high-profile and politically impartial context of select committees
  • Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with experience of initiating and sustaining productive working relationships with stakeholders and colleagues, and of handling difficult situations confidently and persuasively
  • Sound decision-making and time-management skills, with experience of effectively managing and prioritising multiple work streams and the ability to work proactively and independently to identify and resolve problems with minimal supervision
