The Role
Do you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment? Then this exciting opportunity to join the Design Authority team as an Apprentice at the House of Commons could be for you!
Whilst completing a Level 3 apprenticeship you would support the Design Authority who are the central engineering department of the House of Commons and is made up of expert in-house staff providing direction and support to a range of internal and external stakeholders. This team is part of Strategic Estates (SE) who act on behalf of the House of Commons and the House of Lords, dealing with all property related matters.
Key Responsibilities (further information can be found in the Job Description)
As a Design Technician you will work on Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health Engineering and Building Services infrastructures on the following:
- Develop and maintain strategies, policies, design guides and standards
- Produce design briefs and methodologies for consultants and designers, and occasionally create their own designs
- Support projects with design and procurement of consultants and contractors, and contribute to the development of Business Cases
