The Collections Conservation Manager will work as part of the Heritage Collections Team and will be specifically responsible for managing the Parliamentary Art Collection. As the leading conservation specialist for this part of the Collection, the postholder will give professional advice, take decisions and manage projects which impact on the future condition of these works of art. This work will be carried out in support of the overall business objectives for the team and wider department.

The Person

  • Accredited Museum Heritage professional with detailed knowledge of policy and practice in the conservation of historic interiors and collections, particularly from the nineteenth century.
  • Demonstrable experience at the accredited level of managing the care and conservation of collections and historic interiors in an historic house and/or museum.
  • A proficient understanding of risk management and good working knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation.
