The House of Commons and the iconic Palace of Westminster are key elements of the UK Parliaments. Around 2,500 staff work behind the scenes at the House of Commons, supporting the democratic process in many different ways. We are politically impartial and take great pride in the vision and values which guide our work.

The Chamber and Committees Team supports the business of the House and its Committees, providing procedural services and advice, general and secretariat services to Select Committees, reporting and broadcasting services, and security and support for international relations.

This post is based in Hansard, the reporting service for the House of Commons. The successful candidate will be part of a team of 3 staff overseeing the annunciator service.

We are seeking an Annunciator Operator who will be working within our Chamber and Committees Team. The successful candidate will be required to create templates displaying the forthcoming week of business in the House of Commons using a simple PC based system.

Once the House is sitting you will be required to follow proceedings both in the Chamber and Westminster Hall, updating information as the business of the House changes. You will also be required to assist in the publication of security messages and other urgent messages.

More information on the role and the full criteria can be found on the job description.

In addition to an attractive salary, the benefits package includes annual leave entitlement starting at 30 days per year and the possibility of flexible working. There are also subsidised canteens, a gym on-site and a season ticket loan scheme is available.

All applications must be submitted on a House of Commons application form
