Would you like to lead on defining the end user requirements for a once in a lifetime restoration and renewal programme? Can you translate user requirements into service definition and delivery? Do you have experience of research methods to generate specific insights into user behaviour and needs? If yes, then we have an exciting opportunity for you.

The Palace of Westminster is home to one of the busiest and most historic parliamentary institutions in the world and is an enduring symbol of our national identity. As one of the top 5 most recognisable buildings in the world, the Palace is visited by millions of tourists each year.

The Houses of Parliament Restoration and Renewal Programme is being set up to tackle all the work necessary to protect and preserve this UNESCO World Heritage site. It will be the biggest renovation of a historic building ever undertaken in the UK.

Two separate bodies, Sponsor Body and Delivery Authority, are being created through legislation to oversee and execute the programme of works, to ensure a properly functioning and safe environment for those who work there and visitors.

The Programme is a high value, technical, business critical and politically complex environment which will attract intense scrutiny.

The End User Requirements Manager will build strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, mitigate risks and enable the Sponsor to operate as the intelligent client on behalf of Parliament as a whole. You will develop and implement an End User Strategy to collate, record and validate end user requirements for the future Palace of Westminster.

You will have experience of delivering effective communications and activities to gather information from end user groups, underpinned by robust evaluation methods, and be comfortable operating in a start-up style work environment.

In turn we are offering the following benefits:

  • Annual leave starting at 30 days pro rata
  • Civil Service Pension scheme
  • Interest-free season ticket loan
  • Discounted membership of the in-house gym

All applications must be submitted on a House of Commons application form
