The Role

Content Producers create and publish committee content including reports, news stories and social media posts using a variety of online platforms including the new committees.parliament.uk website. They source and create imagery to support online content, including graphics for social media. They will develop and apply web best practice in all areas of their work and will shape and follow style guides and the House of Commons visual identity.

The Content Producers collate and use analytics to monitor the performance of online content and will work closely with colleagues across the Committee Office to advise on good content principles to increase engagement with our audiences. They will also be involved in projects to improve the digital skills and outputs of the department, which might involve providing coaching or training to other staff or helping to design and implement new products and processes.

The Content Producers have a strong focus on customer service, ensuring committee staff have positive and knowledgeable interactions with the team.

The Person

The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:

  • Excellent written communication and proof-reading skills and a demonstrable ability to confidently simplify complex issues accurately and write inclusively for different audiences.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly knowledge of, or ability to learn, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, Google Analytics and Parliament’s Content Management System.
  • Interest in online communication with the ability to apply web best practice standards to content, and a sound understanding of how to use social media in a professional environment.
