Then make the move to the House of Commons Strategic Estates dynamic and growing team.

The Restoration and Renewal Programme has been established to manage the refurbishment of the Palace of Westminster and temporary accommodation buildings on the estate. The programme will be very high profile. It will also have significant interdependencies with other major programmes on the parliamentary estate and carry some substantial risks that will need close management.

This vital design management role will see you co-ordinate, integrate and manage the activities of external design consultants, assist on pre-construction activities and tender opportunities. As well as being the design lead you will need to be a strong team player who is comfortable working collaboratively and having significant stakeholder engagement within a complex environment. Working with other Design Managers to formulate best practice in design management techniques and reviews.

As an experienced Architect, you have sound business and negotiation skills and proven experience of delivering innovative, safe and cost effective solutions into the design for historic buildings. We'll also be looking for a good understanding of public procurement processes, including negotiation with third parties, successful contract management and risk management and excellent knowledge of value creation. Also responsible for ensuring the design process recognises current legislation, standards and codes of practice.
