The Role

This role has wide scope and opportunities to complete a range of security training projects; including supporting line managers with development (and performance management) of their teams, drawing from specialist knowledge of security operations processes.

You will need to demonstrate the ability to quickly grasp and deliver the development requirements for PSD staff, so experience of training delivery would be advantageous.

The post holder will help continue to embed the staff recently transferred from the Metropolitan Police and support the overall change process as well as being responsible for maintaining training records appropriately and accurately. There will also be some requirement of providing Parliament specific training products to officers of the Metropolitan Police Service.

You will provide advice on a range of security subjects within the training field, using any existing knowledge (and knowledge gained within the role) to the Training Manager in order to provide development of the large security service within a modern Parliament.

The Person

The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:

  • Demonstrable experience of working in a learning and development function, including working with various methodologies, design and evaluation of training initiatives.




  • Demonstrable skills in delivering programmes to a varied audience taking into account different learning abilities and accommodating learners accordingly, to ensure effective communication and that all listeners are enthused.




  • Demonstrable experience in working on projects, meeting deadlines and working on own initiative with limited supervision to a high standard, working with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
