The Role

As a key member of the House of Commons Service Delivery management team pro-actively managing “soft” facilities and building services to ensure that they support the parliamentary process and are fit for purpose. In liaison with the maintenance and estates teams and other across the estates plan and manage projects that impact on users of the Commons estate. To lead and coach a team to actively develop and maintain a thorough and up-to-date working knowledge of the House Services. Responsibility for the management of the House of Commons staff sleeping accommodation. and to be part of the out of hours duty management cover for the House of Commons and a Bronze responder for the Incident Management Team

The Person

The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:

  • Proven experience of delivering an operational and high quality, responsive service, in a demanding and customer-focused environment.
  • Must be able to coach, support, and motivate an operational team   to enable team members to develop using a coaching culture
  • Demonstrable experience planning long and short term including planning events such as office moves and redecorations to drafting daily rotas minimising the risk to the operational management of the business
