The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the House of Commons Finance Team as a Financial Accountant. If you have good knowledge and understanding of accounting standards and processes and are keen to utilise these skills for the iconic House of Commons, this could be the role for you.
The post holder will primarily support the Senior Financial Accountant in the preparation of the statutory Annual Accounts. This includes the management of the Fixed Asset Register and the reconciliation of several suspense and control accounts.
The Person
The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:
- Good knowledge of accounting standards pertinent to the role, and can interpret, provide advice and apply them.
- A good understanding of accounting processes and can explain clearly why they are needed.
- Be proactive and take ownership for tasks and issues including the implementation of new initiatives.
