The Role 

This is a high profile senior leadership role that will operate within the context of organisational change, a fast-paced project delivery and politically complex environment. It is anticipated that 60% will be ensuring operational delivery of the decant and 40% managing stakeholder engagement.

  • The Programme Director, Decants (PDD) role provides an opportunity to successfully deliver a seamless decant, relocation and re-occupation service that meets user and business requirements whilst minimising cost and disruption, operating across departmental boundaries and influencing effectively. This job holder, will work cross functionally with all teams in the House Service to orchestrate the moves required during the next 18 months, the job holder will also work closely with the requirements team and the CEB to ensure that we have the appropriate workspace to enhance the welfare of our people.
  • The post-holder will effectively co-ordinate and manage the demand, supply and delivery of multiple decants, relocations and re-occupations projects to support the House Service, balancing the needs of individual programmes with those of Parliament as a whole.
  • The post-holder will require a ‘Growth Mindset’, developing a high-performing integrated programme team and maintain.

  

The Person 

The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience: 

  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of managing a combined decant, re-location and re-occupation programme, including business change, with specific outcomes and impact. In-depth knowledge of the House service.
  • Proven commercial expertise and the ability to make informed decisions and recommendations, using a range of analytical tools within complex change programmes.
  • The ability to use a range of persuasive techniques to influence others and engage a variety of senior stakeholders with varying views in a sensitive political environment to achieve important objectives, without damaging relationships.
