The Role

The Coordinator role is a key position, offering business and administration support to the office, including working with the Communications Director and Business Management Director. It also plays a central role in administrating and delivering the internal communication activity, as well as offering ad hoc support to the media relations team as needed.

This position will provide an excellent development opportunity for someone who wants to broaden their experience and knowledge of the House and/or the full range of communication techniques, including learning more about how the House Service communicates with its staff, MPs, MPs’ staff and other passholders. It requires an individual with motivation and good team skills, who is comfortable working with a wide range of colleagues at all levels and is committed to providing an excellent level of customer service. It is not expected that candidates will necessarily be able to demonstrate hands-on experience in each area listed below; an enthusiastic approach to taking on new challenges and learning new skills is just as important. Experience of working within a communications environment is helpful but not essential.

The Person

The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:

  • Experience of managing administrative processes requiring consistency and a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills, the ability to manage a varied workload and deliver to competing deadlines.
  • Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service and taking the initiative to resolve issues.
