Staff Engagement Officer

The Parliamentary Security Department (PSD) is responsible for physical and personnel security across both Houses of Parliament and provides support to Members and their staff both on and away from the Estate. Its purpose is to keep Parliament safe and open for business.

We are currently recruiting for a Staff Engagement Officer who will manage internal communications and engagement plans across PSD through a wide range of methods, as well as providing staff engagement support to the Senior Leadership Team. The postholder will build an understanding of the various teams and how to bring them together with a sense of identity within PSD and Parliament. The postholder will also be expected to organise events and provide material that will inform and update the whole Team and work in support of cultural change across PSD. This should include, where appropriate, reflecting and connecting to the broader corporate change strategy, working with internal communications colleagues in the central Internal Communications team and across the House where needed.

The Person

• Writing and editing experience, including using plain English to produce accessible and engaging copy for multiple channels and audiences.

• Events management experience, including planning engaging content for sessions, promoting events and managing attendee invitations.

• Demonstrable, strong interpersonal, oral and written influencing skills. Comfortable dealing with internal customers at a range of levels.
