The Opportunity

The Transforming Digital Programme is looking to appoint a Project Manager to support the delivery of its ambitious programme of work, working with colleagues and stakeholders across both Houses and the Digital Service. The programme is focused on evolving the Data and Digital Operating model (DDOM) and working on targeted initiatives to test elements of the DDOM.

Reporting to the relevant Senior Project Manager, Delivery Manager or Delivery Lead and to the wider programme your key responsibility will be to:

  • establishing a project including defining the outcomes, timescales, costs, quality, governance arrangements, resource requirements and the appropriate project approach.
  • managing project delivery including planning, scheduling, providing appropriate assurance, managing interdependencies and allocated resources, and transitioning into business as usual.
  • ensuring that projects are delivered to time, within budget and to the necessary quality, managing budgets within appropriate standards and controls.

What You Need

To be successful in this role you will have :

  • excellent organisation, communication, and collaboration skills, along with being able to work in areas of ambiguity.
  • experience of successfully managing and delivering projects or significant changes, with an understanding of modern, agile project methodologies and some experience in their use
  • proven ability to form effective working relationships with key customers, stakeholders and colleagues within a complex management structure
  • the ability to pass security clearance, backed by the right to work in the UK

About The Team

The Transforming Digital Programme is a Parliament-wide programme that will fundamentally change the way Parliament works with digital, enabling Parliament to:

  • meet rising customer needs of Members, Members' staff and House staff for better digital services; and
  • keep pace with digital developments and advances in technology.

To achieve this, Transforming Digital will overhaul Parliament's existing digital processes, operating model and capability. Without doing this, the gap between expectation and reality will grow wider, and Parliament’s year-on-year cost of digital services will increase.
