The Opportunity

We are currently hiring a Platform Business Owner to join the Digital Customer Service Directorate at the Parliamentary Digital Service.  As a Platform Business Owner, you will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of Parliament’s business process solutions based around Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions.

You will be working closely with colleagues across the Information Systems team to ensure all solution design is in alignment with gathered requirements, best practice, information compliance.

What You Need

  • communicating between the technical and non-technical (technical architect). You can mediate between people and mend relationships, communicating with stakeholders at all levels with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish positive relationships within a complex, diverse and inclusive work environment.
  • governance and assurance. You can understand how technical governance works with wider governance (such as budgets, information compliance, GDPR, etc).
  • making and guiding decisions. You can make and justify decisions characterised by high levels of risk, impact and complexity. You can build consensus between organisations (private or public) or highly independent and diverse stakeholders
  • strategy - you can shape and influence strategy. You can own and be responsible for setting strategies, patterns, standards, policies, roadmaps and vision statements.
  • turning business problems into technical design. You can design systems characterised by high levels of risk, impact, and business or technical complexity.
  • expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 is paramount, including experience in customising and configuring Dynamics 365 applications, integrating with third-party systems, and developing custom extensions, including knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile, DevOps, etc.
  • the ability to pass security clearance, backed by the right to work in the UK

About The Team

Information Systems is a large and diverse team, supporting applications in the Procedural, HR/Finance, Facilities/Core and Dynamics365/Power Platforms environments for both the House of Commons and the House of Lords. 

We support Members, their staff and house staff together with other people who work in Parliament. Information Systems is a collaborative, highly motivated team who are skilled in many applications and methodologies. We handle requests and issues from business areas together with project work to deliver new applications and technologies destined to be used throughout both Houses.
