Work Experience 2019

The House of Lords Administration is offering work experience to school students aged 15 years old to 18 years old, during the period of June & July 2019.

Candidates will be offered office based work in departments within the House of Lords Administration, for a maximum of 5 days. Each successful applicant will be allocated a member of staff as a mentor for the duration of the placement.

During the placement, you should be prepared to complete the following duties:

• General office work
• Data processing
• Shadowing at meetings, writing minutes and providing feedback, sharing your ideas as and when required
• Project work - completing a project relevant to the office where you have been placed

The placement will begin with an induction day, providing applicants with:

• The opportunity to see and learn about the House of Lords and its relationship with the House of Commons
• Meet and socialise with other work experience students

Candidates are asked to read the House of Lords Work Experience Policy and Guidance before submitting their application form.

Please ensure that consent from your parent/guardian and educational establishment is granted by completing a Consent and insurance indemnity form and uploaded to the “Supporting Documentation” section of the application form.

Applications received without a fully completed Consent and Insurance Indemnity form will not be considered.
